Choose the music that will be on your CD based on what the CD is for. Is it to sell, to send to prospective gigs or to record your achievements ?
Try to settle all debates before the recording session so that when you actually play, you stay focussed on getting the best possible recording.
Arrange the recording session with me. Check that you will all be prepared, fit and able on the day. Have a setlist prepared and make sure that everybody is ready to record it.
Tune up before you come, again when you arrive and have spare strings etc. with you.
Make the recording - Enjoy the day and have fun. If you have recorded other artist's material, I'll apply for a license from MCPS to use it. There is a small fee to pay to MCPS.
During the session I'll probably do some trial mixdowns so that I have an idea of what you want. I’ll also shoot photos of the band for the packaging artwork.
After the session I'll edit the recordings, add effects if required and mixdown a draft CD for your comments/approval. I'll also send some draft artwork for the packaging.
Make your final selection of tracks to be included. Finalise the packaging artwork. the MCPS license should be ready by then. I’ll hand over a master of the CD with artwork images for you to copy, or I’ll make copies for you in batches of ten CDs
